In an effort to minimise the use of cars we have designed these programmes in a more eco direction, with regard to sightseeing, by using legs and public transport along with your guide. This method is also more efficient time wise. The guide can work out the best local transport methods to be used on the day. They consider the pace of the guests, the weather and the daily traffic conditions. Since the Olympic Games the public transport is much improved. We also offer a similar (optional) concept for the arrival and departure transfers. If you are not up to walking (for the sightseeing days), we can change the sightseeing to use a private car (surcharge applicable).
There are more than one point that you can access the wall. We do not go to the closest and original access point as this is SO CROWDED. Mutianyu, whilst not free of other tourists, will allow you a better experience.
So that we can present a year round stable price we have not included hotels. We can book hotels as well, but due to the large selection available and changing prices it is not a good idea to include these. For our itinerary (for visa purposes) we need to book hotels for you. Check you have online and let us know, or ask us for advice for good hotels in good locations.
There is no reduction in price if you choose the guided public transport arrival and departure transfers. These require licensed English speaking guide who cost more than a standard transfer driver and their car!! It is an altruistic decision
Yes, we do this all the time. Let us know what you want to do and we can craft an itinerery to suit.
